20081229 = Week 5 = Celavisa, Portugal

Week 5

20081229 Arose 8 coffee to come round then set about re-fitting Patrick's wood burning stove, also cleaned it up, looks great now and seems to work better. About Noon set off to Arganil for more cash and some supplies, called for my generator which is now working great, then called to see Jen and Shaft, chatted the afternoon away with a few beers then called for shopping on the way home. Had a chilled evening and watched a little TV before retiring.

20081230 Arose 10 for breakfast, then did my weekly clean up of the motor home, also tried the generator out which worked fine. Also got the Moto out and took it for a short run, managed to get it out and back in alone using the ramp Andy made, thanks Andy works a treat. Later I chopped a load of fire wood while Patrick made a small bucket of curry, should last a few meals, first dish was really good. Chilling this evening for the big one tomorrow. 20081231 Arose 10, after breakfast we had a run down to Gois to get some supplies, we bumped into Serge and had a coffee an a couple of large ports before noon in the May Tay Cafe Bar, Serge had a few jobs to do at home so we got to the supermarket then decided to have another coffee and a bun before returning home. Spent the rest of the day chilling and getting ready for the Party at Annie's. Dougy, Shaft and Jen arrived just before 8, so we went in convoy. Met, Steve, George, Cheryl, Derek, Anna, Tony, Valerie, Kate, Sarah and Nick up their.

Had a good night, food, drink and company was great, I let the new year in to Annie's as I was the Stranger, left at 2am with a view to having a night cap at Nicks ended up having several, got to bed a 7am. Took this pick of the rainbow in Gois today from just outside the May Tay Cafe Bar. Happy New Year!

20090101 Arose Noon worse for wear feeling delicate, a few coffee's to come round and pottered on the computer before leaving to have lunch at Maureen and Jerry's, got their at 3pm met David, Anita, Bill and Maggie who were also joining us for lunch, Carlos and Sonya joined us for a drink on there way to a friends. Had a fairly steady day still in recovery mode, got to bed about 11pm ready for a good sleep.

20090102 Arose 10 another lazy day, breakfast then headed into Gois for Lunch at the Pizza Cafe Bar, had a lovely lunch, beers, olives, bread, soup, steak, perri perri, coffee cream desert, coffee to finish off. A little walk around before returning back to the ranch. watched a little TV a few more beers then retired.

20090103 Arose 9 lit the fire, breakfast, checked out the motor home, caught up on the internet, light lunch, planned to spend Sat night in Arganil, but have to meet up with Nick first at the Paderia for a few beers after dinner. Another good night out with many of the locals also tried the local meat cake, like a thin baked cake about 3cm thick with lumps of cured meat in it, quite tasty.

20090104 Arose 9 quick breakfast then off to Bordeiro to pick up Dougy, then off up the mountains off roading in Patrick's 4x4 took quite a few pics as we scaled the old roads in the hills, stopped at the summit and toasted the peak with a few gulps of port, then down the other side to Cabrera for a coffee and a few beers, then finished off in Gois for lunch at the Pizza Cafe Bar, managed to consume a large stroganoff pizza to myself with extra chorizo, got some bread rolls for tomorrow then had one in May Tay Cafe Bar before returning back to Celavisa. Chilled the evening away before retiring about 11pm.
