Week 6

20090105 Arose 9 steady day organized the pics from yesterday, checked out email and send a few with attachments to George, Steve, Annie and Tony, also checked out Facebook. Patrick made some homemade soup for lunch, then we had a drive to Arganil to get some supplies, I bought 10 litres of red wine and 5 bottles of Port to top up my stocks, we also got some food, and had a walk round and a coffee. On the way home we went off road again up the mountain tracks for an hour or so exploring little villages in the mountains. We finally found our way back to Celavisa for a relaxing evening.

20090106 Arose 8 lit the fire, showered, shaved and two cups of tea before 9 waiting for Patrick to rise, just heard its been -11 last night in the UK glad its warm here. Drove to Gois had hot pork sandwich and coffee for breakfast, then left Patrick at the Barbers for his annual hair cut and shave. I had another coffee and chilled in the morning sun watching the World go by.

Bumped into Carlos then had a couple of beers and a trosca for lunch at the Pizzeria, bought a pressie for Jerry then back to Celavisa. Got changed checked the Motor home, disconnected the gas bottle, then set off to Coja for 2 new gas bottles. On the way back stopped off at Jerry's Birthday bash. Enjoyed the get together, stayed about 5 hours then back home to bed. Busy Day.

20090107 Arose 9 lit fire, had breakfast, connected generator to Motor home and wasn't working quite right, managed to blow a few fuses on the Motor home, so had to go to Arganil for replacements, had a nice lunch at Filips, then back to fix the Motor home, spent a couple of hours at it with no luck, still not working right, will have another go tomorrow. Had a couple of drinks with Dougy then chilled out.

20090108 Arose 10 had another go at the Motor home for an hour then popped into Arganil for Lunch again, had the pirri parri chicken with rice and beans, it was lovely. Back to Celavisa and tried to sort out the Motor home, Patrick's Charger didn't work either. Anton and Zoo called for a few drinks and a chat, that was a laugh, caught up on facebook, then watched a movie before retiring.

20090109 Arose 10 everything iced up this morning at Patrick's it was -4 here last night, first no water for a cup of tea, so we decided to go to Gois for breakfast, however Patrick's car was also iced up and wouldn't start. So we messed with that for a while then got the tea on in my Motor home, we had planned to visit Val and Tony for lunch but still no car, Tony ended up coming and picking us up. A lovely afternoon and lunch, they also have a six birth cottage they rent out which they showed us round. Tony brought us back at about 5, we managed to get Patrick's car started after sitting in the sun for the afternoon. The water was back on as well. We had a few beers at the Paderia with Nick and Gaby before calling it a night.

20090110 Arose 9 had a shower, shave, lit the fire and had 2 cups of tea before Patrick rose, all back to normal this morning, had a light breakfast then went down to meet Reg and Brenda who had just arrived from Uk at 10 this morning. We helped them unload the motor home and get the house warmed up and organized, they also had frozen water problems and car problems, anyway Dougy joined us and Anton & Zoo so it was all hands on deck. Got the car sorted and eventually the water flowing. I also got one of the locals to jump start the Motor home then took it to Arganil, to fuel up get some shopping and give it a run. Later we had some food and decided to have a quiet one as everyone was tired, we'll make up for it tomorrow no doubt.

20090111 Arose 9 lit the fire then light breakfast, called at Reg & Brenda's then had a run to Gois, Patrick's car was playing up again however it had settled down by the time we got to Gois. Had lunch at the Pizzeria then back to Celavisa, Patrick got the dinner on while I chopped some wood then checked the Motor home over, started it up and ran the central heating just to warm it through and ensure everything working ok. It seems ok but not sure about the charging. Put my washing in and settled  down on the terrace with a cold beer for a couple of hours, its was about 18 deg on the terrace, nice for January. We decided to have dinner outside today, Patrick's special chicken delight with assorted veg, very nice with a glass of wine. Another laid back chilled evening bed about 11. Hope everyone is ok.
